Penal Code Section 75
Punishment of persons convicted, after a previous conviction of an offence punishable with three years’ imprisonment
75. Whoever, having been convicted of an offence punishable under Chapter XII or Chapter XVII with imprisonment for a term of three years or upwards, or having been convicted in any other part of Malaysia, in the Republic of Singapore or in the State of Brunei of an offence of a nature similar to any of those offences, shall be guilty of any offence punishable under either of those Chapters with imprisonment for a term of three years or upwards, and shall be subject for every such subsequent offence to double the amount of punishment to which he would otherwise have been liable for the same.
